1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using QR + Barcode Toolbox (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

Our mission is to provide an accessible, transparent, and private utility for generating and reading standard 1D and 2D optical symbologies directly in your browser.

2. Commercial Rights & Royalty-Free License

100% Royalty-Free: All SVG, PNG, and print outputs generated using this Service are entirely yours. You are granted an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, print, distribute, and display generated QR codes and barcodes for any purpose, including:

• Commercial product packaging and retail shipping cartons.
• Restaurant menus, flyers, brochures, and promotional displays.
• Business cards, conference badges, and employee credentials.
• Digital marketing campaigns, websites, and slide presentations.

No attribution, licensing fees, or backlink requirements are imposed on any exported imagery.

3. Nature of Static QR Codes

All QR codes created on this platform are direct, static QR codes. When you enter a URL or text string, that exact text is burned directly into the black-and-white matrix pattern.

• They Never Expire: Because we do not route your QR codes through an intermediary URL redirect server, your codes will never be held hostage behind a paywall, expire after 14 days, or stop working due to a third-party server shutdown.
• They Cannot Be Changed After Printing: Because the matrix encodes the raw characters physically, you cannot alter the destination address once the code is printed. If you need destination flexibility, we recommend using a URL redirect hosted on your own custom domain before generating the code.

4. GS1 Non-Affiliation & Retail Barcode Disclaimer

Our linear barcode tools (EAN-13, UPC-A, EAN-8, ITF-14) calculate check digits according to GS1 General Specifications and render standard visual lines. However, rendering a barcode does not grant or certify legal ownership of a GTIN Company Prefix.

If you intend to sell products through retail department stores, supermarkets, or national e-commerce marketplaces (such as Amazon, Walmart, or Target), you must obtain authentic, registered GTIN identifiers directly from GS1 (gs1.org).

5. Pre-Production Proofing & Scanning Verification

Barcode and QR scannability depend on numerous physical variables, including print substrate, ink contrast, quiet zone margins, camera resolution, and lighting conditions.

Required Proof Testing: Before initiating high-volume commercial printing or packaging manufacturing runs, you agree to print physical proofs and verify them using standard optical barcode scanners and multiple mobile devices. We cannot be held responsible for packaging reprints, wasted materials, or retail rejection fees.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Encode deceptive phishing URLs, malware payloads, or malicious scripts.
• Infringe upon the intellectual property or trademarks of third parties.
• Attempt to compromise, disrupt, or flood the website through automated denial-of-service.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, QR + Barcode Toolbox and its contributors disclaim all liability for any indirect, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service.
