Client-Side Privacy & Standards Guarantee

Generated entirely in your browser. Static QR codes encode destinations directly into the matrix and never route through an intermediary redirect service or expire.

How to Use

  1. Enter your wireless network name (SSID) exactly as broadcast by your Wi-Fi router.
  2. Select your network security protocol (most modern home and business routers use WPA/WPA2/WPA3).
  3. Enter your Wi-Fi password. (If your network is open/public, select 'None').
  4. Optionally check 'Hidden Network' if your router has SSID broadcasting turned off.
  5. Download your vector SVG or PNG code to print a clean tabletop sign or guest placard.

About This Format

A Wi-Fi QR Code uses the standardized WIFI:T:<type>;S:<ssid>;P:<password>;; URI syntax. Both Apple iOS Camera and Google Android OS interpret this payload natively, presenting a one-tap “Join Network” dialog that connects the device without manual credential entry.

Validation & Technical Constraints

  • Automatically escapes delimiter characters (\ ; , : ") according to ZXing wireless standard specifications.
  • Zero network transmission: Wi-Fi passwords and network names remain strictly on your local device.
  • Compatible with WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Personal, WEP, and Open wireless networks.

Examples

Standard WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Network

WIFI:T:WPA;S:MyHomeWiFi;P:SuperSecretPass123;;

Public Open Network

WIFI:T:nopass;S:Cafe_Free_WiFi;P:;;

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Generation takes place entirely inside your browser sandbox via client-side JavaScript. Neither the network name nor your wireless password is ever transmitted over the network or logged in any database.

Guests simply open their default camera app on iPhone (iOS 11+) or Android (Android 10+) and point the lens at the code. A notification banner will immediately pop up with the network name, asking for confirmation to join.

Our formatter automatically escapes special punctuation characters like colons, semicolons, quotes, and backslashes so that phone operating systems parse the password without truncation or syntax errors.
