ITF Barcode Generator — Interleaved 2 of 5 Numeric
Generate high-density Interleaved 2 of 5 numeric barcodes widely used in warehousing and distribution.

SVG is recommended for physical printing. PNG is ready for digital usage.
Generated entirely in your browser without network requests. Renders standard symbology geometry locally — creating a barcode image does not issue, register, or license a GS1 identifier.
How to Use
- Enter numeric digits into the data input field. An even number of digits is required.
- If your code has an odd number of digits, pad it with a leading zero (e.g. 123 becomes 0123).
- Inspect the live SVG barcode preview for instant visual confirmation.
- Adjust sizing, bar height, margin, or colors under Appearance Settings if desired.
- Download SVG for high-resolution corrugated box printing or PNG for warehouse records.
About This Format
Interleaved 2 of 5 (ITF) is a continuous, self-checking two-width numeric linear symbology defined in ISO/IEC 16390. It encodes digits in interleaved pairs: the first digit of each pair is represented by five bars, and the second digit is represented by five spaces between those bars. In each character set, exactly two of the five elements are wide (hence “2 of 5”). Because of its high data density and tolerance for coarse printing surfaces, ITF is standard in warehousing, distribution packaging, and logistics.
Validation & Technical Constraints
- Only numeric digits (0–9) are accepted; letters and punctuation are invalid.
- Payload length must be an even number of digits due to paired interleaving.
- If an odd number of digits is entered, pad with a leading 0.

Frequently Asked Questions
ITF encodes data in pairs: the dark bars encode the first digit and the white spaces encode the second digit. Because digits are always interleaved in pairs, an odd number of digits cannot be rendered without adding a leading zero.
No. Interleaved 2 of 5 is strictly a numeric symbology. If you need to encode letters or punctuation on warehouse labels, use Code 128 or Code 39.
Standard ITF allows variable even lengths and is used internally in warehousing. ITF-14 is a specific 14-digit GS1 standard for master shipping cartons that includes a Modulo-10 check digit and heavy black bearer bars to prevent partial scans on corrugated cardboard.
